Bellows Home Flood

We had recently suffered from a flood in our Mount Pleasant, Michigan group home—the Bellows Home.  The flood waters were ankle deep in the lower, furnished level of the home.

As it turned out, the water was partially sewer water, so nearly everything was ruined and needed to be replaced.

ServePro sent about 7 vans for the demolition work. They removed all the carpet and pads and cut the drywall out two feet up from the floor.

Fortunately, we switched insurance companies last January. Our new agent added a policy that covers certain types of flooding. The type of flood we had was covered up to $30,000. We are so grateful to a drywall finisher from Detroit who is coming to our home for a few days to share his expertise in finishing.

Another blessing is that one of our host families with Safe Families for Children owns a furniture store in Knox, Indiana. His store graciously donated many new pieces of furniture for the Bellows Home. What a blessing!

We are still in need of $10,000-$12,000 to finish the repairs in this home.
